Integrated Health for a Healthier Somalia

We address the interconnected health of people, animals, and the environment through evidence-based research, surveillance, and system strengthening.

Health

At ARACHTI, we understand that health threats do not respect boundaries between species or ecosystems. Our health research adopts a holistic One Health framework, recognizing that the wellbeing of Somali communities is inextricably linked to the health of their livestock and their environment. We generate the scientific evidence needed to prevent outbreaks, control diseases, and build resilient health systems.

One Health in Somalia

We champion the One Health approach, recognizing that the health of people is closely connected to the health of animals, plants, and our shared environment. Our flagship programme, the Somali One Health Centre (SOHC), is the practical embodiment of this focus, addressing complex health challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration.
