About ARACHTI

Building a resilient Somalia through evidence, capacity, and collaboration

Our Story

ARACHTI’s journey began in 2014 as the research arm of Abrar University, where we quickly established ourselves as a credible source of knowledge and training. For over a decade, we built a robust foundation of research excellence and community trust.

On October 19, 2025, we embarked on a new chapter, reconstituting as an independent institution. This strategic evolution marked our commitment to scaling impact, serving a broader national development agenda, and operating with enhanced autonomy and focus.

Today, we carry forward a rich legacy of research while innovating for Somalia’s future, maintaining our academic rigor while expanding our reach to government, private sector, and international partners.

ARACHTI, abbreviated from Abrar Research and Training Centre, is intentionally constructed to echo the Somali word “Aragti,” meaning vision and insight, symbolizing our mission to transform evidence into meaningful impact.
